The ResPot Network

Overview
The European Network of National Contact Points for the Research Potential programme (ResPotNet project) aims to support research and industrial communities in the European Union's convergence and outermost regions to fully utilize their research potential, to strengthen their capacities and to increase their participation in the Framework Programmes. The trans-national consortium of the project is composed of 16 partners originating from: Greece (coordinator), Poland, Romania, Italy, Austria, Germany, Spain, Malta, Bulgaria, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Turkey, Israel, Serbia and Croatia. The duration of the project is 4 years.

Objectives
The Research Potential Network will provide the means for strong collaboration and mutual learning among NCPs, resulting in better services tailored to the needs of the researchers and the objectives of the Research Potential programme. By simplifying access to FP7 calls and raising the average quality of the submitted proposals, the Network will promote coherent development and growth in the enlarged and diversified Union. ResPotNet promotes:
  • Consistent level of high quality information and assistance services for potential proposers
  • Networking and synergies with related national, regional and European networks and policies for an integrated approach to the European Research Area
  • Benchmarking, exchange of know-how and experience, twinning schemes, training and mentoring of new and less experienced NCPs
  • Disseminating knowledge and exploiting results for the social and economic development of the regions
Activities
Support to tans-national cooperation between convergence and advanced regions:
Partner Search Facilitator (database), Mapping of convergence/outermost regions research (consolidated data-tool)

Exchange of good practices/Training for mutual benefit
NCP Forums for exchange of good practice, Thematic workshops for collaboration with other Networks, Training visits from less to more experienced NCPs, Training seminars, Helpdesk Platform

Promoting scientific excellence in convergence regions
Information material, e-newsletter, promotion at national and European events.
