Overview
Europe needs to exploit its research potential, particularly in the less advanced regions that are remotely situated from the European core of research and industrial development. Taking advantage of the knowledge and experience existing in other regions of Europe, this programme upgrades research potential of emerging and existing centres of excellence, by providing support in the form of investment, equipment, staff, networking or advice. An Action Plan is funded with coherent measures including:
- Trans-national two-way secondments of research staff;
- Recruitment of incoming experienced researchers;
- Acquisition and development of research equipment;
- Organisation of workshops and conferences for knowledge transfer;
- Dissemination activities;
- Evaluation facilities by international independent experts.
